If you haven't already picked these two albums up, what the hell are you doing? Whereas mainstream hip hop and rap leaves so much to be desired, innovators like J Dee and Madlib have kept me interested at least in the beat-making side of hip hop. If you are tired of the screaming, babbling, ranting of today's MTV hip hop, listen to these masters of production work sans emcees for a return to the jazzy/soulful sound of 1990's hiphop with a distinguishably mature production value. -- R.I.P.
